Back bonus is mandatory: +50% capture rate from behind. At 1% HP with Legendary Sphere + back bonus, capture rate is ~15-25%.
Start with Frostallion — easiest legendary, Fire-type counter is widely available. Use Frostallion to catch Jetragon (Ice beats Dragon).

What Makes Legendary Pals Different

Base capture rate is the lowest in the game — expect 10-20 failed throws even at 1% HP
Highest base stats — 150 HP/ATK/DEF for Frostallion, Jetragon, Paladius, Necromus
Fixed boss locations — never random. Always at the same arena spot
Level 50 — don't attempt before Lv 40, ideally Lv 45+
Share spawns: Paladius and Necromus spawn together in the desert. Must separate or fight both.

Lower HP to 1-5% — Use a weak weapon (basic bow) for the last 5% to avoid killing. A Rocket Launcher is great for the first 95%, then switch.
Back Bonus — Always attack/throw from behind for +50% capture rate. Circle around the Pal before throwing.
Bring 20+ spheres — Even at 1% HP, capture rate is only 15-25% with Legendary Spheres. 20 spheres = ~95% chance of success if you're consistent.
Status effects help — Frozen or Paralyzed Pals have higher capture rates. Bring an Ice Pal for freeze, or electric for paralysis.
Breed after catching — Once you capture ONE, breed it with another of the same species for infinite copies. Never fight the boss again.

Location: Northwest frozen island (look for the large icy plateau)
Counter: Bring Fire-types — Blazamut is ideal. Bring heat-resistant armor for the approach, then swap to cold-resistant for the fight.
Attack patterns: Diamond Rain (AoE, dodge sideways). Blizzard Spike (linear, dodge forward/back).
Tip: Frostallion should be your FIRST legendary. Use it to catch Jetragon (Ice beats Dragon).

Location: Volcano region boss arena, northwest. Large open lava area.
Counter: Ice-types. Frostallion is the perfect counter if you've already caught it.
Special: Jetragon also flies — bring a strong ranged weapon. Its Dragon Meteor has a 2-second windup with a telltale animation.
Value: Fastest flying mount (3300 sprint speed). #1 combat Pal overall.

Location: Northeast desert. Spawns TOGETHER with Necromus.
Critical strategy: You MUST separate them. Either:
Lure one away with a fast mount (aggro one, fly away, it follows)
Build walls in the arena to block line of sight
Bring a friend — one tanks Paladius, the other fights Necromus
Why catch: Highest HP in the game (160). Sacred Rain (Power 800) is the highest-damage skill.

Location: Same as Paladius — northeast desert, spawns together.
Strategy: Same separation tactic. Dragon-types counter Dark. Jetragon is the perfect counter if you have it.
Why catch: 150 HP + 150 Shot ATK. Top-tier Dark DPS.

Location: Northwest mountain area. Fixed boss arena.
Counter: Dragon-types. Jetragon or Quivern for mid-game.
Special: Divine Disaster skill increases damage per buff on the target. Extremely aggressive — keep moving.
Tip: Shadowbeak is easier than Paladius/Necromus (solo fight). Good second legendary after Frostallion.

Problem	Why	Solution
"Died in 10 seconds"	Under-leveled / no armor	Don't attempt before Lv 40. Craft the climate-appropriate armor (heat for volcano, cold for ice area). Bring shields.
"Paladius and Necromus kill me together"	Didn't separate them	Use a fast mount to aggro one and fly 200m away. Fight them one at a time. Building walls also works.
"Used all 20 spheres, still failed"	Not using back bonus / HP not low enough	Back bonus is NON-NEGOTIABLE (+50%). HP must be at 1-5% — if the bar shows any green, it's too high.
"Jetragon flies away mid-fight"	Jetragon changes altitude during combat	This is normal. Follow with a flying mount. Jetragon returns to the arena after a short flight.
"Frostallion won't stay still"	Frostallion charges frequently	Dodge the charge, then counter-attack while it recovers. The charge has a 1-second recovery window.
