How to Breed Jetragon — Parent Combinations & Tips

Author: Palworld.space TeamPublished on 2026-07-15Updated on 2026-07-15

TL;DR — 30-Second Summary

  • Jetragon has a Breeding Power of 286 — the highest in the game. To breed more, breed two Jetragons together (286+286/2=286).
  • You MUST catch your first Jetragon from the wild (Lv 50 volcano boss). There's no way to breed Jetragon without at least one Jetragon parent.
  • Catch strategy: Bring Ice-type Pals (Ice beats Dragon), Legendary Spheres (Power 40), and at least 20 of them. Back bonus gives +50% capture rate.
  • After catching one: Breed it with another Jetragon for infinite Jetragons. Or breed with a high-power Pal whose average is close to 286.

How Breeding Works for Jetragon

Jetragon has a Breeding Power of 286 — the single highest value in Palworld. The breeding formula:

Offspring = Pal whose Breeding Power is closest to (Parent A + Parent B) / 2

Since Jetragon's power is 286, breeding two Jetragons gives (286+286)/2 = 286 → another Jetragon. This is the simplest way to mass-produce.

Can You Breed Jetragon Without a Jetragon Parent?

Technically yes, but it requires two Pals whose average is close to 286. The only Pals with power high enough are:

Even the highest-power non-Jetragon combo (e.g., Paladius + Necromus) averages ~240, which produces a different Pal, not Jetragon. Realistically, you NEED to catch your first Jetragon.

Step 1: Catch Your First Jetragon

Prerequisites

Where to Find Jetragon

Jetragon spawns as a Lv 50 Alpha Boss in the volcano region (northwest). Its boss arena is a large open lava area. It does NOT spawn randomly — always in the same fixed location.

Use the Map to pinpoint the exact spawn. Fly there with a mount — you'll need heat resistance for the volcano area.

Combat Strategy (Step-by-Step)

  1. Fly to the volcano boss arena with heat-resistant gear equipped
  2. Engage with Ice-type PalsFrostallion is ideal (Ice-type legendary). Ice attacks deal +50% damage to Dragon-types.
  3. Dodge Jetragon's Dragon Meteor — it has a 2-second windup. Sprint sideways when you see the animation.
  4. Lower HP to ~5% — Use your weapon for the last portion. Switch to a weaker weapon (basic bow) for the final 1-2% to avoid killing it.
  5. Position behind Jetragon — Back bonus gives +50% capture rate
  6. Throw Legendary Spheres — Expect 10-20 throws even at 5% HP. Capture rate with Legendary Sphere at 5% HP is roughly 15-20%.
  7. If it breaks free, throw another immediately. Jetragon stays at low HP.
  8. Don't give up — It took most players 5-10 attempts on their first try.

Step 2: Breed More Jetragons

Once you have ONE Jetragon, mass production is easy.

Setup

  1. Build a Breeding Farm (Tech Lv 19, costs: 50 Wood, 50 Stone, 30 Fiber)
  2. Craft cake: 1 Flour + 1 Red Berry + 1 Milk + 1 Egg + 1 Honey. Build a ranch with Chikipi, Mozzarina, and Beegarde for auto-production.
  3. Get a second Jetragon (catch another or breed one with a high-power Pal)

Breeding Routine

  1. Place male + female Jetragons in Breeding Farm
  2. Put 1 cake in the farm's box (NOT the feed box — the small box attached to the farm)
  3. Wait ~5 minutes → collect egg
  4. Place egg in incubator (Electric Incubator at Lv 36 for 2x speed)
  5. Hatch → new Jetragon
  6. Repeat
With 2 Breeding Farms running in parallel, you can produce ~4 Jetragons per hour. Use them for butchering (Ancient Civilization Parts), passive skill breeding, or base defense.

Alternative: Breed Without a Second Jetragon

If you have only one Jetragon and can't catch another:

  1. Breed your Jetragon with any Pal opposite sex
  2. The offspring will NOT be Jetragon (286 + lower power → average too low)
  3. BUT: the offspring may inherit Jetragon's "Legend" passive
  4. Breed that offspring with your Jetragon (backcrossing)
  5. Continue backcrossing toward higher-power offspring that approach 286

This is a much slower path. Catching a second Jetragon is faster than this breeding chain approach.

Common Problems & Fixes

ProblemWhySolution
"Jetragon keeps killing my whole team"Under-leveled or wrong typeUse Lv 45+ Ice-type Pals. Never bring Dragon or Dark types — Jetragon resists them.
"Used 30 spheres, still didn't catch"Using wrong sphere / no back bonusLegendary Sphere (Power 40) is minimum viable. ALWAYS throw from behind for +50% capture rate.
"Accidentally killed Jetragon"Over-damage at low HPSwitch to basic bow at 5% HP. Or use a Pal with low-damage attacks for the final hits.
"Breeding farm not producing eggs"Cake in wrong box / same-gender PalsCake goes in the Breeding Farm's attached box. Check both Jetragons are opposite genders (♂ + ♀).
"Can't find Jetragon's spawn"Looking in wrong areaJetragon spawns ONLY in the volcano boss arena (fixed location). Use the Map — it's marked.
"Egg hatches into something else"Wrong parents — breeding power mismatchIf breeding two Jetragons, result is ALWAYS Jetragon. If not, verify both are actually Jetragons.
